The Office of the Electoral Board and General Registrar is committed to providing each citizen of the City of Franklin with the opportunity to exercise his or her right to vote in an efficient and equitable manner in accordance with the Constitutions of the United States, the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Code of Virginia.

Important Notice:

Out of an abundance of caution due to the uncertainty of COVID-19, all City of Franklin government buildings are closed to the public beginning at noon on March 17th. As of now, this closure will be in effect until further notice.

We encourage citizens to register to vote, update voter registration information, or request an absentee ballot ONLINE at vote.elections.virginia.gov.

The deadline to register for the May 5, 2020 Citywide General Election is Monday, April 13th.

The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail for the May 5, 2020 Citywide General Election is 5:00pm Tuesday, April 28th. Due to mail service delivery we recommend requesting an absentee ballot EARLY.

Voters are encouraged to apply online for Absentee Ballots using reason code 2A - illness or disability, reason 2B - care for relative, or reason 1D - personal business due to COVID-19.
