The Public Information Office (PIO) is a division of the City Manager's Office. The Public Information Office functions as the central resource for all internal and external communications for the City of Franklin. Media Relations includes, the City's Web Site, City Cable Channel 13, printed materials, and press releases.
Public Information Office - What do we do?
The job of the PIO is to inform the public with information that ensures the safety of our citizens within the community and is to collect, verify and disseminate information to the public that will help them make decisions about health, safety and welfare. We are to do the following:
- Educate and inform
- Change human behavior or attitudes
- Call people to act
- Create positive impressions of the agency with the community
The PIO's purpose is to convey information that:
- Saves lives
- Protects property
- Minimizes negative impact on the environment
