ADOPT-A-SPOT SIGNS
Be on the look out for the new adopt-a-spot signs that are being placed in strategic areas throughout the city. These areas have been adopted by local businesses and non-profit organizations that are showing their commitment to “Keep Franklin Beautiful” by picking up litter in those areas several times per year. The new signs incorporate the new state logo and slogan “LITTER IT JUST ISN'T NATURAL”. Areas that are available for adoption are those where the signs state “UP FOR ADOPTION”. Once adopted your business or organizations name will be added to the sign distinguishing you as an adopt-a-spot participant. Show your city pride by adopting a street/spot by calling 757-562-8580 for an application.
 
PLEASE REMEMBER
Putting materials (branches, wood, etc.) within the travel or parking lanes (street) of vehicular traffic is a violation of the City Ordinances for Littering (Section 13-6) and is subject to a fine of up to $500.  Please make sure when you are putting material out for City pickup that you do not put it in the street. Materials must remain off the paved surface of the street.
